Media group Cramer + Lonnemann is investing in Heidelberg to continue its growth

“We feel confident about the future of print and offset printing,” says Hubert Lonnemann, owner of the family-run Lonnemann GmbH in Selm, which has been in existence for over 100 years. At the very beginning of drupa, he signed a purchase contract for two of the latest drupa generation of the Speedmaster XL 106 presses featuring the innovative DryStar LED drying technology.

“This press is coming at just the right time given the increasing industrialization of the print industry. UV LED technology is now ready for the market, meaning that we can get the ever shorter runs into postpress faster, because the sheet is dry when it comes out of the press.” It is also perfect for printing highly popular natural papers since it solves the problem of the ink penetrating into the fibers, giving a high-quality and authentic end product. Matt/gloss effects with partial UV coating are also possible here.

The new “Push to Stop” operating concept was a key factor in the purchase decision. Presses equipped with this feature start production automatically once all the prerequisites are met. “The operator assumes the role of order manager, making for an attractive and innovative place of work for our staff,” says Hubert Lonnemann confidently. As well as increasing productivity, this feature also ensures the highest level of quality. This is extremely important for Cramer + Lonnemann, since its client base includes domestic and overseas customers from industry, banking, agencies as well as the jewelry and fashion industry.

This is what inspired Lonnemann to develop a number of trend-setting color printing processes such as “SixColor” for printing up to 99 percent of true colors using an extended color space. The company offers a full range of popular commercial print services and is known throughout the industry for printing color charts. Its digital printing services include personalized and customized products. The strengths of the two printing methods are realized in hybrid production. Other services include web-to-print and a letter shop as well as direct mailings. The in-house software company creios GmbH implements e-shop concepts.
